Even if you haven’t played Candy Crush series of games then you would in all likelihood know of someone who was quite into them. A report by Sensor Tower reveals the magnitude of Candy Crush Friends Saga’s popularity in terms of the moolah. The report reveals that Candy Crush Friends Saga has now seen people spend $200 million since the time it was launched. The Candy Crush franchise, meanwhile, has raked in $1 billion in 2020.
The game surprisingly is equally popular on Android phones as well as iPhones. 49% of the revenue generated by Candy Crush Friends Saga came from iOS whereas the balance 51% was from Android. The report also revealed the US remains the top market for downloads of the game. More than 12 million installs of the game have happened since it was launched in October 2018.
The report further detailed the popularity of games as far as people spending money on them is concerned. “We can see that Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, and Candy Crush Friends Saga rank No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 for player spending, respectively.”
King, the developer of the franchise, as per Sensor Tower has been a dominant player in this genre of games. “When looking at all Puzzle category titles, Candy Crush Saga ranks No. 1 for player spending, while Soda Saga ranks No. 5 and Friends Saga ranks No. 15,” the report added.
Clearly, the game franchise has a huge fan following and surprisingly hasn’t eroded even after many years of its launch.
As far as Candy Crush Friends Saga is concerned, the game was launched in 2018 and is the fourth instalment in the series. However, the top earning game in the franchise remains the ‘original’ Candy Crush Saga, which has earned $720 million so far in 2020.
