AMD has expanded its Embedded processor family by adding a new product to the lineup. Dubbed as AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 series, the processor is based on the company’s 7nm process technology, Zen 2 cores and comes with AMD Radeon graphics. The processor, according to the company’s claim, is designed to offer better efficiency and enterprise-level security for embedded customers.
The AMD Embedded Ryzen V2000 family is designed for embedded applications such as Thin Client, MiniPC and Edge systems. The new V2000 series processors are equipped with up to eight cores and seven GPU compute units claiming to offer improved single-thread and multi-thread performance. The Ryzen Embedded V2000 processors can power up to four 4K displays at the same time.
In addition to this, the Ryzen Embedded V2000 series processors also come with security features to defend against unauthorised access to memory or critical software. Similar to the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 and R1000 Series, the AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 will support AMD Memory Guard, a suite of security features including Secure Boot and Secure Memory Encryption, to prevent cold boot attacks.
