Google Web Stories: Google’s new Web Stories feature is now live: All the details

Must read

Google has been working on its own Stories like feature from a while now. The search engine giant has finally introduced the Stories feature also known as web stories or AMP Stories to its Google app. According to the blog post, the Stories section will be available under the Discover section of the search app.
The Stories can be found in the form of Carousel within the Google app under the Stories tag. Users in select regions will be able to see the Stories by tapping on them. Google’s web stories are the combination of photos, videos and texts to depict a story similar to what we see in other apps such as Snapchat or Instagram.

The Stories feature under Google app is currently rolling out in the USA, Brazil and India, and Google has confirmed the rollout to more countries in future. Also, currently, the Stories feature is limited to Google app, Search and Images. The company has also confirmed the feature to more Google products and services.
Do note that this is a deferred rollout and might take some time to reach every device. For us, the Stories feature was visible, but suddenly it disappeared.
For those unaware, Google first started developing its Stories back in 2018 with the name AMP Stories using Google Accelerated Mobile Pages project technology. These stories are already available via Google Search results.
