HMD Global, the company that has the license to manufacture and sell Nokia-banded handsets, has sent out invites for a virtual event that will be held on August 25 at 10 am onwards.
“HMD Global cordially invites you to a briefing session and ahead of our product announcement,” said the company in the invite.
The company has not mentioned what all it plans to launch, however, it is expected to launch Nokia 5.3 and more smartphones on that day.
Just today, it was reported that the Nokia 5.3 has been listed on the company’s India website, implying that the launch in the country was nearing.
HMD Global launched Nokia 5.3, along with Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 1.3 smartphones in March in Europe.

Priced at EUR 189 (approximately Rs 15,100), the Nokia 5.3 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display and 20:9 aspect ratio. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, it offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is also a microSD card support of up to 512GB.
In the camera department, the handset has a quad-camera setup on the back that includes a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP Macro sensor. For selfie purposes, the smartphone houses an 8MP camera in a water-drop style notch.
The Nokia 5.3 comes backed by a 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box.
