Blair Witch, the first-person single player horror game, is free on Epic Games Store till November 5, 2020. The psychological horror game is based on the lore of the Blair Witch and set in 1996.
As per the Epic Games Store description of the game: “A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…”
The game is only playable in single player as you step into the heels of police officer Ellis. Before you lies a forest that’s said to be cursed. However, accompanying you in this quest will be Bullet, your dog. Bullet can be treated with treats and disciplined. As per the game developers, how you choose to treat Bullet will impact the storyline of Blair Witch. The game seems designed to test your response and stimuli to fear and the loneliness inside a supposedly cursed forest that isn’t a normal one and has a few tricks up its sleeve to jeopardise your investigation. Blair Witch gameplay consists of depiction of physical violence and injuries, so make up your mind before entering its game world. It is free now and wouldn’t hurt to have it in your library to give yourself the jitters sometime in the future.
