iPhone 12: YouTube rolls out HDR support for iPhone 12 series: Report

Online video sharing platform YouTube has rolled out a new app update on the iOS platform that adds HDR video support. Now, iPhone 12 users will be able to select HDR options to view video content. The YouTube App update (15.45.2) adds HDR support for the new iPhones: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini, as per a report by Macrumors.
The HDR options can be found by tapping on the vertical ellipsis icon on the top right of the video. You may check if you are watching a video in its highest quality by tapping on the icon. HDR options are only available on the devices that came out in 2017 or after, sporting OLED displays.
The new iPhone 12 series phones support HEVC, H.264, MPEG‑4 Part 2 and Motion JPEG HDR with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG video formats. They come with the support of up to 4K HDR AirPlay for mirroring, photos and video out to Apple TV (2nd generation or later) or AirPlay 2–enabled smart TV. For video mirroring and video out, the new iPhone support up to 1080p through Lightning Digital AV Adapter and Lightning to VGA Adapter
