iPhone SE: Apple may not launch its ‘cheapest’ iPhone next year

While the wait for the launch of the iPhone 12 series is hopefully about to get over this month, rumours about the next iPhone models have already started surfacing. In the latest, display analyst Ross Young has shared some information about the iPhone 13 series on Twitter where it is claimed that the iPhone SE model will not launch before 2022. The claim is based on information from Mizuho Securities.
“Like DSCC, Mizuho Securities also says no new iPhone SE model in 2021, have to wait till 2022. They do say all iPhone 13 models will have integrated touch, BOE will join LGD on both 6.1″ models, mini and 13 will adopt 12 Pro Max camera sensors, & sensor size will increase on Pro,” reads Young’s tweet.

As per a chart shared by Young, the next iPhone SE will reportedly sport a 6.1-inch LCD screen and dual cameras. Like the current-generation iPhone SE, it will retain Home Button, means opting for the fingerprint sensor instead of Touch ID.
“Most important development on the iPhone 13 models from my perspective will be ProMotion with variable refresh rates through LTPO adoption on the Pro models,” he adds in a followup tweet.
As per the chart, iPhone 13 lineup is believed to include a 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, 6.1-inch iPhone 13, and 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini.
Young claims that the “most important improvement” that iPhone 13 Pro will get is the 120Hz ProMotion display which can support variable refresh rates powered by LTPO technology.
