NEW DELHI: South Korean tech giant may soon launch its latest LG Velvet smartphone in India. An alleged listing of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has reportedly appeared online suggesting that the company is gearing up to launch the smartphone in the country. The claimed certificate has been posted by tipster Mukul Sharma on Twitter.
The company launched the LG Velvet in April this year in Korea and it comes in Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset colour options.
LG Velvet specifications
The LG Velvet comes with a 6.8-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. The smartphone features a ‘Waterdrop Camera’ and 3D Arc Design. ‘Waterdrop Camera’ is a design in which three rear cameras and a flash are arranged in a vertical direction as if water droplets are falling.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM. The device offers 128GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 1TB by adding a microSD card.
The LG Velvet runs Android 10 operating system and the company has not yet revealed any other details about the software. The dual SIM smartphone offers the triple rear camera. The rear camera sports a 48MP main sensor with LED flash, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP depth sensor. The camera comes with quad biking technology which combines 4 pixels into one picture. The camera also offers voice out focus which separates the background noise and voice from a video. The front houses a 16MP selfie camera.
The LG Velvet comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers with AI sound which claims to automatically analyse the content being played and adjusts the required audio quality accordingly.
The smartphone packs a 4,300 mAh battery with support for fast and wireless charging.
