Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 with replaceable battery, rugged design launched

Samsung has been making rugged Android tablets for the past two years now and the company has finally unveiled the third-iteration of the rugged and durable Android tablet called Galaxy Tab Active 3. The Galaxy Tab Active 3 is based on the previous generation Galaxy Tab Active 2 design and is aimed for field-workers. The company says that the device is built for how businesses operate today with increased emphasis on improving employee productivity and safety.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 comes with MIL-STD 810H certification for added durability and with enhanced shock absorption the tab can now withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters with an inbox protective cover. The tab also features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Samsung has also added a touch sensitivity feature with the tablet. The tablet also supports S Pen and comes bundled with an IP rated SPen in the box.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3: Specifications
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9810 processor which is paired with 4GB RAM. The tablet comes in two storage options — 64GB and 128GB which is further expandable up to 1TB via microSD card slot. The tablet features an 8-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) PLS TFT LCD which is backed by a 5050mAh battery which is surprisingly user replaceable. There’s also no battery mode that means that tablet can also be powered even without battery by plugging it directly into the power source.
In terms of camera, the tablet comes with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and a 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS and more.
