NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics giant Samsung launched its first foldable smartphone with clamshell design — Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year along with the Galaxy S20 series of smartphones. The company then introduced the 5G variant of the smartphone along with the Galaxy Note 20 series. Now according to a new online report, the company is gearing up for the launch of its successor — Galaxy Z Flip 2.
According to the display industry analyst Ross Young, the company will launch the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 in Spring next year. This means that the company will not launch it with the Galaxy S 21. So Samsung will launch only the Galaxy S21 series of smartphones in January next year.
Rumours also suggest that just like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, the company will also launch the 4G and 5G variants of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 as well. It is also said that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 will come with a larger outer display, new UTG display, updated hinges and a bigger battery as compared to its predecessor.
Recently, Samsung slashed the price of its Galaxy Z Flip smartphone in India. Recently, the smartphone got its first price cut after which it was selling for Rs 1,08,999 and now the smartphone has received another price cut of Rs 24,000. After the price cut, the smartphone can be purchased at Rs 84,999.
The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor paired with Adreno 650 GPU. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip packs 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The foldable smartphone is backed by a 3300mAh battery with 15w fast charging, 9w Qi wireless charging.
