Samsung may launch Galaxy Z Fold 3 with S-Pen support, claims report

Must read

For the last couple of weeks, there have been rumours that Samsung may bid adieu to its popular Galaxy Note series this year. Now, a new report Korean publication, Aju News, corroborates the same.
As per this report, Samsung will offer S Pen support to foldable phones as well as select Galaxy S-series phones and will therefore discontinue its Galaxy Note series.
Not only that, this report also adds that the next foldable phone — allegedly called Galaxy Z Fold 3 — is expected to launch in June 2021 and the company has already started working on its final samples for mass production.
This foldable phone from Samsung is said to come with support for an S-Pen as well, which will be a first for a foldable phone from the South Korean tech giant. The report suggests that this feature wasn’t being offered by the company so far as it was facing difficulties in developing a screen protective layer that prevents scratches from when the S Pen and the screen come in contact but that has been overcome now as the company has apparently replaced transparent polyimide (CPI) film to ultra-thin glass (UTG).
Another thing that this report claims about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is that the company is planning to skip the notch as it may introduce an under-display camera setup as it will be using a technology that allows light to pass through the gap between pixels to take photos.
