Samsung starts rolling out One UI beta program for Galaxy S20 smartphones in select regions

Must read

Google recently announced Android 11 operating system globally and several smartphone makers such as OnePlus, Realme and others have already announced their Android 11 rollout plan and started testing the beta software already. Samsung also announced the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 last week and it has now started rolling out the beta update for Galaxy S20 series smartphones in select regions.
Samsung has confirmed this via TizenHelp and as per the announcement, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone users are currently eligible for the beta update. The announcement also mentions that the One UI 3.0 beta will be soon available for Galaxy Note 20 series phones but has not confirmed any specific timeline about that.
One thing to note here is that not all users are eligible for the update. Galaxy S20 series users can choose to enroll into the beta program and Samsung will randomly select a limited number of users for the update.
According to Phonearena’s report, currently the One UI 3.0 beta software is known for a large number of issues. But that’s obvious considering it’s a beta version of the software.
For now, Samsung has not confirmed when other regions will receive the One UI 3.0 beta program or when more phones will be eligible for testing. But we can expect to see other smartphones getting added to the list soon considering how active Samsung has become in past few months in terms of pushing the regular software updates to their smartphones.
