Twitter’s Fleets features may have a bug, not working properly

Must read

Recently, Twitter started rolling out its version of Instagram Stories called Twitter Fleets globally. With Twitter Fleets, users can post content which will disappear in 24 hours. However, because of some bug, the fleets are not disappearing after 24 hours.
As reported by TechCrunch, the bug is also allowing other users to download and view fleets without notifying the author of that particular fleet. Twitter has now acknowledged the issue and is also trying to fix it. A Twitter spokesperson told The Verge, “We’re aware of a bug accessible through a technical workaround where some Fleets media URLs may be accessible after 24 hours. We are working on a fix that should be rolled out shortly.”
The fleets posted by users appear on their timelines fro 24 hours, but Twitter stores the fleets on the back end for up to 30 days. During this time, a fleet is available in a user’s Twitter Data downloads. Unlike the normal tweets, Fleets will not receive Replies, Likes or Retweets.
Fleets will not appear in the regular Twitter timeline of the users. A user has to visit the public Twitter profile and then tap on their Fleets to view it. Moreover, users will also not be able to circulate the Fleets on the Twitter network and they will also not show up in search or Moments. Also, users will not be able to embed them on an external website.
Twitter also allows users to upload any text, photo and video as a Fleet. In order to publish a Fleet, users have to tap on the ‘Share’ icon placed at the bottom of a tweet and then click on ‘Share in Fleet’. The Fleet will then appear at the top of your followers’ timelines. Fleets will also be visible at the top of your profile.
