Uber launches two new employee commute services in India

Must read

Ride-hailing app Uber has expanded its Uber for Business product offering with the launch of two new commute specific services. These include employee group rides and business charter. The two services are aimed to help businesses support their employees’ daily commute.
While employee group rides will enable employees from the same organisation to book rides together to travel to work, business charter will allow companies to reserve a dedicated fleet of vehicles provided by third party fleet partners for their employees and customers.
According to Uber’s internal data, 70% of companies are already planning transportation solutions for their employees as businesses reopen. “Through its suite of ridesharing solutions, Uber for Business will continue playing a pivotal role in the business recovery process and help companies get back to normal, along with unlocking new earning opportunities for drivers,” said the company in a press statement.
To ensure safety of the riders and drivers, the company has introduced technology-driven solutions such as the Go Online Checklist, a mandatory mask policy for both riders and drivers, pre-trip mask verification selfies for drivers and mandatory driver education on safety SOPs.
