NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 12 software update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro users in India. With this latest software update, the smartphone will get all the features of MIUI 12 which include new UI, wallpapers, built-in app drawer, ultra-battery saver which is claimed to deliver 5 hours of battery life even with 5% battery left and more.
The company took to Twitter to announce the roll-out of MIUI 12 on Redmi Note 8 Pro. The company tweeted, “The much-awaited update for Redmi Note 8 Pro is here. The #MIUI12 V12.0.1.0 is rolled out for #RedmiNote8Pro. How to update? – Go to Settings > About phone> System update> Click on download and update your device. Don’t wait! Update now.”

For those unaware, the Redmi Note 8 Pro Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro comes in four colour options – Shadow Black, Halo White, Dark Blue, and Gamma Green. The smartphone offers a 6.53-inch FHD+ Dot notch HDR display and features Aura design at the back. Backed by a 4,500 mAh battery, the handset runs on MediaTek Helio G90T quad-core GPU processor with up to 800Mhz clock speed.
The USP of the phone is its camera features. The handset comes equipped with a 64MP quad AI camera. This consists of a 64MP main camera (f/1.89 aperture), accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens having a 120-degree field of view (f/2.2 aperture), 2MP macro lens with 2cm auto-focus and a 2MP depth sensor.
For selfies, the handset boasts of a 20MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0.
The smartphone runs on MIUI based on Android. It is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging and USB Type-C port. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is a dual SIM phone with a 2+1 card slot. There is a dedicated microSD card slot which can be used to expand the storage by up to 512GB.
